The matching textured tail curls around the hindquarters. The retained gold label reads Cheval Ceramics, a South African ceramics business founded by Johnny de Beer in 1980. The textured tail curls around the hindquarters and echoes the strands of the mane. The face is partly hidden by the forelock, giving this figure a different expression from an upright standing pony. Its low pose makes the broad body and folded legs the main features when viewed from the side.
