Lighter green catches the raised texture, while the recesses appear almost black. Rounded ends frame the long planting opening and its gently irregular rim.

The supplied identification places this piece in the South African Drostdy Ware range associated with Grahamstown Potteries. The supplied history gives broad production periods of 1948 to 1965 and 1968 to 1985; those ranges describe the maker's activity, not a verified date for this individual example. Its exact production year remains unconfirmed. The supplied identification records DROSTDY model 123A. The underside photographs show the base and its marking, complementing the moulded log form.
