T.G. Green Yellow Ware Gripstand Mixing Bowl — 25cm

At 10.5 cm tall and 25 cm wide, this T.G. Green Yellow Ware gripstand mixing bowl, with its warm yellow glaze, cream interior, and classic raised relief pattern around the body, is the mid-sized bowl in the T.G. Green Yellow Ware gripstand series, larger than the 22.5 cm bowl and smaller than the 32 cm, and well suited to the full range of mixing and preparation tasks for which the gripstand form was designed.

Made by T.G. Green of Church Gresley, Derbyshire, and dating to circa 1929 to 1930, the Yellow Ware gripstand mixing bowl is an example of the functional kitchenware that T.G. Green produced alongside its more widely known Cornish Kitchen Ware range. The Yellow Ware, with its warm yellow glaze and cream interior, was produced by T.G. Green in the late 1920s and early 1930s as a practical and decorative alternative to the plain white or cream kitchenware of the period. The gripstand form, with its ridged exterior that provides a secure grip during mixing, gives the bowl a practical quality that suits its role as a working kitchen vessel. The raised relief pattern around the body adds a decorative note to the functional form. The piece is in good condition throughout.
