T.G. Green Yellow Ware Gripstand Mixing Bowl — 32cm

At 13 cm tall and 32 cm wide, this T.G. Green Yellow Ware gripstand mixing bowl is the largest in the gripstand series, the generous scale giving the warm yellow glaze, cream interior, and classic raised relief pattern around the body the space to be seen at their most impressive, the bowl's size making it suited to the most demanding of kitchen mixing and preparation tasks as well as to display as a statement piece of vintage English kitchenware.

Made by T.G. Green of Church Gresley, Derbyshire, in the 20th century, the Yellow Ware gripstand mixing bowl is an example of the functional kitchenware that T.G. Green produced alongside its more widely known Cornish Kitchen Ware range. The Yellow Ware, with its warm yellow glaze and cream interior, was produced by T.G. Green as a practical and decorative alternative to the plain white or cream kitchenware of the period, and the gripstand form, with its ridged exterior that provides a secure grip during mixing, gives the bowl a practical quality that suits its role as a working kitchen vessel. At 32 cm wide, this is the largest and most visually commanding of the three Yellow Ware gripstand mixing bowls in this collection, and its scale gives it a presence on the kitchen shelf or dresser that the smaller bowls cannot match. The raised relief pattern around the body adds a decorative note to the functional form. The piece is in good condition throughout.
