Description
At 14 cm tall and 28 cm wide, this Aynsley Pembroke fine bone china teapot is the centrepiece of the Pembroke tea service, the lidded form decorated with the pattern's colourful floral sprays, delicate bird motif, and refined gilt detailing with the same precision and luminosity that define Aynsley bone china at its finest, the generous proportions of the pot giving the decoration the space it deserves.
Made by Aynsley China of Stoke-on-Trent, one of England's most celebrated bone china manufacturers, this teapot is the most significant single piece in the Pembroke range, the form around which the rest of the tea service is organised and the piece that collectors of the pattern most actively seek. The Pembroke pattern, with its vivid bird motif, hand-painted floral sprays in rich colours, and delicate gilt border, has been one of Aynsley's most enduring and widely collected designs since its introduction in the mid-20th century, and the teapot, with its fitted lid, elegant spout, and comfortable handle, is a piece that could grace an afternoon tea table as readily as a collector's cabinet. The piece is in excellent condition throughout.
