Description
Fenton's Orange Tree pattern is one of the most widely collected designs in American carnival glass, and this marigold ruffled bowl presents it in a generous 22cm form with the warm orange amber iridescence, moulded floral and leaf decoration and patterned central well that make the pattern immediately recognisable. The scalloped ruffled rim adds a characteristic Fenton finish.
The moulded decoration supports identification as Fenton Art Glass Company's Orange Tree pattern, giving the piece a stronger collector catalogue attribution than a generic carnival-style pressed glass description. The date is given cautiously as early 20th century, circa 1910s. The piece sits naturally alongside other Fenton carnival glass examples in the Carnival Glass collection.
