Description

Fenton's Peacock and Urn pattern is one of the most celebrated pictorial designs in early American carnival glass, and this marigold ruffled bowl presents it with the warm orange amber iridescence, arched moulded panels and geometric medallion detail that make the pattern immediately recognisable to collectors. The scalloped beaded rim and circular central well complete a well-proportioned form.

The pattern attribution gives the piece a stronger collector catalogue identity than a generic amber iridescent pressed glass description. The date is given cautiously as early 20th century, circa 1910, in line with recognised carnival glass catalogue wording for Fenton Peacock and Urn. The piece sits naturally alongside other Fenton carnival glass examples in the Carnival Glass collection.
