Description

Fenton's Peacock Tail pattern is one of the most distinctive fan-form designs in early American carnival glass, and this marigold square crimped bowl presents it with the warm orange amber iridescence and bold moulded detail that collectors seek. The scalloped crimped rim, ribbed fan-like panels and flower-form centre detail combine to create a piece with strong visual presence.

The fan-shaped moulding corresponds with Fenton Art Glass Company's Peacock Tail pattern, a recognised early carnival glass design, supporting a stronger maker and pattern attribution than a generic carnival-style pressed glass description. The date is given cautiously as early 20th century, circa 1910. The piece sits naturally alongside other Fenton carnival glass examples in the Carnival Glass collection.
