Description
A decorative German porcelain collector's wall plate by Hutschenreuther, titled "Love for All Seasons: The Tournament". The colourful medieval scene depicts a mounted knight at a tournament accompanied by attendants and elegantly dressed spectators, with a castle visible in the distance. Cobalt-blue astrological decoration and broad gold-coloured borders frame the scene with formal grandeur. A fitted hanger on the reverse allows it to be displayed on a wall. Measuring 20 cm in diameter.
Hutschenreuther, founded in Hohenberg an der Eger in 1814, is one of Germany's most distinguished porcelain manufacturers, producing fine tableware and collector's pieces of consistently high quality. The printed inscription on the reverse gives the German title "Das Jahr der Liebenden: Das Turnier" and the English title "Love for All Seasons: The Tournament". It names Charlotte and William Hallett as the designers, identifies an edition of 10,000, and bears the Hutschenreuther Germany backstamp. The piece is consistent with late 20th-century production. It is in very good condition throughout, with no chips or cracks.
