Description
The tall slender trumpet form of this Imperial Ripple marigold carnival glass swung vase is one of the most elegant shapes in the American carnival glass repertoire. The reflective orange amber iridescent surface, flared ruffled rim and vertical ribbed ripple body catch the light from every angle, making this a striking display piece whether shown alone or grouped with other carnival glass vases.
The ribbed ripple form supports the Imperial Ripple pattern attribution, giving the piece a stronger collector catalogue identity than a generic amber carnival-style trumpet vase description. The starburst detail to the foot is characteristic of Imperial's production style. The date is given cautiously as early 20th century, circa 1910s to 1920s. See also the related Imperial Beaded Bullseye swung vase in the Carnival Glass collection.
