Description
Imperial Glass Company's Star and File pattern, also recorded as Imperial mould number 612, is one of the more precisely documented geometric designs in the American carnival glass canon. This marigold ruffled bowl presents it with a warm orange amber iridescent surface, scalloped ruffled rim and bold geometric moulded side panels that reward close inspection.
The named pattern attribution gives this piece a stronger collector catalogue identity than a generic amber iridescent pressed glass description. The starburst base detail is characteristic of Imperial's production style, and the date is kept safely as early 20th century, circa 1910 to 1930. The piece sits naturally alongside other Imperial carnival glass examples in the Carnival Glass collection.
