Description
Where the Coronet vase sits low and wide, the Laurier Nelly stands tall on a raised foot, its pressed laurel decoration and scalloped rim giving it a more formal, architectural presence that makes it a natural centrepiece in any carnival glass display.
Made by Joseph Inwald of Bohemia, this pedestal vase features a raised footed form with a gently flared body, scalloped rim, and pressed laurel-style decoration running around the body beneath the rim. The Laurier Nelly pattern takes its name from the stylised laurel wreath motif, a classical reference that Inwald deployed with characteristic European refinement. The warm marigold iridescence is consistent and well-preserved, shifting between amber and gold depending on the light source. Inwald's footed vases in this pattern are among the more elegant forms in the European carnival glass catalogue.
