Description
A spreading ribbed tail balances the rounded body of this Lucia Ware fish planter vase. Moulded eyes and gill details identify the stylised fish, while the planting opening follows its scalloped upper outline. Glossy green glaze lightens over raised details and deepens within the recesses.

The supplied dating places it broadly in the mid 20th century, around 1945 and the 1950s, rather than establishing an exact year of manufacture. The supplied identification records LUCIA model 2202.
