Lucia Ware Emerald Green Twin-Handled Vase No. 1562

An emerald green glaze gives this rounded Lucia Ware vase its distinctive colour, with blue-green undertones across the body and paler mint-green highlights along the rim and raised handle ribs. Fine speckling runs through the glossy surface, while deeper green glaze pools around the short neck and recessed details.

Made in South Africa by Boksburg East Potteries under the Lucia Ware name, this model has a broad rounded rim and two small moulded handles with stepped ribbed detailing. The underside photograph shows the Lucia Ware marking and model number 1562 within the glazed base, surrounded by an unglazed foot ring. Its period is the mid 20th century, circa 1945 to the 1950s.
