Description
This Lucia Ware hand-painted ceramic vase carries a Delft-style sailing boat scene, green and brown foliate decoration, and a flared trumpet rim. The base is impressed LUCIA with a model number appearing to read 3243 or similar, and also carries a handwritten Hand Painted mark with initials appearing to read T.W. The impressed LUCIA mark supports attribution to Lucia Ware, associated with Boksburg East Potteries.
The maritime decoration shows Delft-style influence as a decorative style only and should not be described as Dutch Delftware. The initials T.W. are treated cautiously as a painter or decorator mark. Visible crazing, age-related base wear, and staining are noted.
Dimensions: 31 cm (H) x 18 cm (W)
Condition: Good, with age-related wear as noted.
Product Type: Ceramics
