Description

Glossy yellow glaze follows the elongated fins and moulded scales of this Lucia Ware model 1806 angelfish plaque.

Identified by the owner as marked LUCIA 1806. The marking is not legible in the supplied reverse photograph. Lucia Ware is a South African range from Boksburg East Potteries. The flattened rounded body carries an open mouth, defined eye and gill, side fin and ribbed tail. The long upper and lower fins give the fish its broad decorative outline. The model identification follows the owner's supplied reading of the mark, which is not legible in the supplied reverse photograph, rather than an independently confirmed photograph of the inscription. For comparison, the Lucia Ware 6003 Flying Ducks Wall Plaque and the Lucia Ware 9001 Flying Mallard Wall Plaque provide related examples of form, decoration or maker within the store.
