Description

This Beswick storybook figure places the Old Woman mouse and her children inside a pale blue shoe with finely painted detail.

The design is inspired by Beatrix Potter's nursery-rhyme illustrations and carries a printed inscription naming the character, F. Warne and Co. Ltd., the 1959 copyright and Beswick England. Modelled by Colin Melbourne, it was first issued in 1959 and appeared in several backstamp variations until 1998. The figure belongs with the Beswick collection, the Figurines collection and the wider Collectibles collection.
