Empoli, based in Tuscany, was one of the most prolific Italian glass producers of the mid-to-late 20th century, producing decorative and functional glass in a wide range of colours and forms that are now actively collected internationally. The black and white cased glass pieces are among the most visually bold of the Empoli range, and the pitcher form, with its generous proportions and strong silhouette, is one of the most satisfying of the available shapes.
