Description

The convincing barrel form and branch-like handle give this SylvaC jug a strong rustic character.

The underside is impressed SylvaC, Made in England and catalogue number 1435, confirming the maker, model and English origin. The piece is modelled as a wooden cider barrel, with moulded grain and encircling bands continuing around the body. Catalogue number 1436 was used for matching barrel mugs, placing this jug within a wider novelty drinking set. The warm tan glaze reinforces the wood-inspired design.
