Description
An English ceramic dinner plate by W.R. Midwinter Ltd, decorated in the traditional Willow pattern with the classic landscape of pagodas, a bridge, trees, a boat, and birds in cobalt blue on a white ground, surrounded by detailed geometric and floral borders. The plate is a well-proportioned vintage example of the Willow pattern in English tableware, and its clean, well-printed decoration makes it an attractive addition to a blue-and-white collection. Measuring 25 cm in diameter.
W.R. Midwinter Ltd was a Staffordshire pottery established in Burslem in 1910, producing a wide range of tableware for the domestic and export markets. The printed backstamp reads "Willow", "W.R. Midwinter Ltd", and "England", accompanied by a pagoda and stylised tree device, confirming the maker, pattern, and English origin. The plate is of vintage 20th-century production. It is in very good condition throughout, with no chips or cracks.
