Description

A bird among flowering branches centres this large scalloped plate, with its elaborate blue and white border.

The ceramic wall plate measures 32 cm wide and 3 cm high, with a shallow profile and shaped edge. Its painted scene shows a bird perched among flowering branches, surrounded by a detailed floral border. A hanging wire is fitted to the back. The reverse is inscribed Delfts, 100% Handpainted and Holland, alongside a handwritten signature that cannot be read reliably from the photographs. The inscription states Holland as the origin, but no individual maker or pottery is verified. The large format gives the bird scene room at the centre, while the scalloped outline echoes the decorative border. It is recorded in excellent condition with no chips or cracks noted; the uncertain signature is not used as an attribution.
