Description
Charming in scale and pleasing in form, this Drostdy Ware footed planter in soft light green is a lovely example of South African mid-century ceramic design at its most approachable and well-crafted.
Produced by Drostdy Ware in Grahamstown, one of the most recognisable names in South African ceramics, this style 413A planter features a rounded footed form and fluted ribbed body detail. The soft light green glossy glaze and ribbed texture give this piece a fresh, cottage-style appeal that works well in compact vintage ceramic displays, green-toned shelf arrangements or as a standalone accent piece. Drostdy Ware smaller decorative planters and vases are popular with collectors seeking well-made, compact pieces from the South African ceramic tradition, and the style 413A is a particularly appealing example of the range. This example is in visible condition as shown in the images.
