Description
Generous in scale, rich in colour and commanding in presence, this H&K Tunstall flared vase in the Autumn pattern is one of the most striking pieces in the Tunstall range — a confident statement in hand-painted English earthenware that draws the eye from across the room.
H&K Tunstall was a Staffordshire pottery manufacturer based in Tunstall, one of the six towns of the Potteries district, producing a range of earthenware tableware and decorative pieces throughout the 20th century. The Autumn pattern, with its deep cobalt blue ground warmed by ochre tones and animated by bold hand-painted fruit decoration, is one of the most recognisable and collected of the Tunstall ranges. The flared form and substantial height of this vase give it a commanding presence suited to mantelpiece displays, period interiors, and dedicated ceramics collections. This example is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks, or damage noted.
