Description
Blue glaze, dark horizontal ribs and a dotted rim distinguish this Liebermann Pottery planter.
Blue and brown glaze, horizontal ribbing, tapering open planter form, dotted rim border The supplied listing records a Liebermann Pottery label. The exact production period of this example is unconfirmed. The primary photograph shows a wide open planter form with tapering sides and a slightly flared rim. Dark brown bands emphasise the horizontal ribbing, while small blue accents interrupt the darker border near the mouth. The photograph does not establish drainage provision or watertightness, so neither is claimed. For comparison, the Hamburger Potteries 402 Speckled Green and Cobalt Planter provides a related example in the store. The Journal’s South African Pottery Makers: A Collector's Guide to Local Ceramics gives further collector context.
