Description
A distinguished example of early Poole Pottery at its most refined, this hand-painted ceramic vase bears an impressed mark — a hallmark of the Carter, Stabler and Adams period that collectors prize above all others in the Poole Pottery canon.
Poole Pottery, based in Poole, Dorset, has been producing distinctive hand-decorated ceramics since the early 20th century. The Carter, Stabler and Adams period (1921 to 1963) is widely regarded as the golden age of Poole Pottery, and pieces bearing the impressed mark from this era are among the most sought after by serious collectors. The cylindrical neck rises from a softly rounded base finished in a cream ground, with a colourful hand-painted floral band and yellow rim detail that give the piece a bright, confident decorative presence. The quality of the hand-finished decoration and the provenance of the impressed mark make this a significant collector's piece. This example is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks, or damage noted.
