Description
A decorative German porcelain collector's wall plate from the Rosenthal Studio-Line, designed by the Danish artist Bjørn Wiinblad. Titled "Aladin und die Wunderlampe III: Aladin trifft den Zauberer", the colourful scene depicts Aladin meeting the sorcerer against a deep cobalt-blue ground, enriched with elaborate gold-coloured detailing. A fitted hanger on the reverse allows the plate to be displayed on a wall. Measuring 16.5 cm in diameter.
Bjørn Wiinblad (1918–2006) was one of the most celebrated Scandinavian designers of the 20th century, and his collaborations with Rosenthal produced some of the most distinctive and collectible pieces in the Studio-Line range. The printed inscription on the reverse reads "Rosenthal Sammelprogramm — unlimitierte Edition", "Aladin und die Wunderlampe III", and "Aladin trifft den Zauberer". It also bears the Rosenthal Studio-Line Germany backstamp and Wiinblad's printed signature. The piece is of vintage late 20th-century production. It is in very good condition throughout, with no chips or cracks.
