Description
Cobalt panels, iron-red flowers and white reserves arrange this single tea saucer into a lively Imari-inspired design. Gilt accents draw the eye around its border, making it useful both as an individual display piece and as a possible match for an appropriate antique cup. It joins other tea and coffee table pieces without being represented as a complete cup and saucer set.
The underside is described with a crowned T & K L mark associated with Taylor & Kent of Longton. A second painted number appears to read 121, but that reading and whether it is a pattern or decorator reference remain unconfirmed. The Longton connection supports an English attribution; it does not establish a single production year. The existing description suggests a late nineteenth or early twentieth-century period from mark style and decoration. Its coloured ornament offers a clear account of the object even where the small painted number is uncertain. The source grades the saucer Excellent and reports no chips or cracks, a condition assessment that still merits physical verification. For more context on the decoration and identification, see the Journal guide to Imari-inspired ceramics.
