Description
A flower basket framed by scrolling decoration gives this square Delft Holland tile a composed wall-display presence.
The 15 cm square ceramic tile carries a blue and white basket of flowers within a scrolling floral border. A hanging fitting is present on the back, so the tile is prepared for wall display as well as cabinet presentation. A faint reverse inscription reads Delft Holland, but it does not identify an individual maker or verify a factory. The decoration is therefore best described as Delfts rather than attributed to a specific pottery. Its balanced square shape and centred basket motif give the surface a clear focal point, while the patterned edge fills the surrounding space with repeated detail. The stated origin comes from the faint inscription; a production period is not confirmed. The available condition note records the tile in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
