Description
A speckled green glaze covers the rounded, flattened body of this Hamburger Pottery model 54 bud vase.
The underside bears the impressed Hamburger Pottery mark and number 54. The supplied identification places manufacture in Grahamstown, South Africa. The short neck and small opening distinguish the bud-vase shape from the maker's broader bowls and planters. Its flattened profile is especially apparent from the side, while the fine speckling remains the principal decoration across the curved surface. For comparison, the Hamburger’s Pottery Brown Floral Bud Vase and the Hamburger’s Pottery Dark Brown Floral Bud Vase provide related examples of form, decoration or maker within the store.
