Description

At 25 cm tall, this is the larger of the two Royal Stanley Ware Jacobean grape motif vases in this collection, and the additional height gives the hand-painted grape clusters, vine leaves, and autumnal accent detail more room to breathe across the cobalt ground.

Made by Royal Stanley Ware of England, circa 1920s, this vase features a deep cobalt ground with hand-painted grape clusters, vine leaves, and warm autumnal accent detail in the Jacobean pattern, Pattern 843. The pattern number 843 is marked to the base, confirming its place in the documented Royal Stanley Ware production catalogue and making it a traceable collector's piece. Royal Stanley Ware Jacobean pieces in the larger vase forms are less commonly encountered than the smaller examples, and the combination of the documented pattern number and the generous scale makes this a particularly desirable piece for collectors of the range.
