A pair of linnets perches close together beside a flowering tree trunk in this warm toned bone china grouping, its gentle colouring and companionable pose giving it real presence among English bird figurines.
Royal Worcester produced this model under number 3365, and the printed underside mark confirms the Linnets name, the Bone China designation, the Royal Worcester name and Made in England origin. The bright yellow flowers worked into the moulded base provide a cheerful counterpoint to the birds' warm brown and rose toned plumage, a combination typical of the studio's naturalistic bird series from the period.
