Description
Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland of Gouda, Holland, produced decorative pottery under the Plazuid mark from 1928 onwards, and this cachepot in the Aurora decor is a good example of the factory's bold Art Deco-style output. The decoration features warm orange, yellow, turquoise, and green motifs on a cobalt-blue ground, with black rim and foot bands. The base is marked with the PZH-style Lazarus Gate device, Plazuid, Holland, the number 197, and a decor name appearing to read Aurora.
The visible Plazuid Holland wording and PZH-style gate device support the maker attribution. The numbers are treated as model, workshop, or internal marks rather than exact production dates. Visible crazing, age-related wear, rubbing, small glaze losses, staining, and base wear are noted.
Dimensions: 8 cm (H) x 9 cm (W)
Condition: Good, with age-related wear as noted.
Product Type: Ceramics
